The HR workstream is being delivered by the Surrey Personnel Officers Group (SPOG) and the Surrey Training Officers Group (STOG). These is groups comprise HR professionals from all twelve Surrey councils.
This workstream will identify ways that all of the HR services across Surrey can work together to reduce costs. This is a long-term project with the ultimate objective of establishing one HR service that could be shared by all of the Surrey public bodies. However, there are a number of shorter-term objectives that work towards improved partnership working between clusters of councils to increase efficiencies. These include:
- Harmonisation of HR policies
- Shared HR computer software
- Shared HR procurement opportunities
- Establishing a single apprenticeship programme
- Establishing shared Surrey-wide training and development programmes
