The SLGA has a number of member-led working groups. These groups are appointed by the Association to encourage progress in particular key themes that are important for the whole of Surrey.
The Surrey Waste Partnership -
Members have developed and agreed on a 'Joint Municipal Waste Management Strategy' (JMWMS) to improve the management of waste in Surrey. The group are still continuing their work to deliver increased efficiency and improved County-wide services.
The Surrey Climate Change Partnership -
The Surrey Climate Change Partnership Members' Group was established in November 2009. It provides political leadership for work already taking place under the Surrey Climate Change Partnership and facilitates joint working on the agreed Surrey Climate Change Strategy. This Group also acts as a political level advisory body for theSLGA and its member authorities on climate change.
